SkyWalk at the Sky Tower
SkyWalk takes small groups out onto the ring that circles the Sky Tower's pergola, nearly two hundred metres above the street. Walkers are kitted out in a suit and harness, clipped to a rail overhead, and led around by a guide who sets the pace and talks through what they are looking at. There is no handrail, which is rather the point. The whole thing runs about an hour and a half from briefing to unclipping, with the walk itself taking around twenty minutes. Older children can take part alongside an adult, and it tends to suit the ones who want the story and the height more than the scare. Families often pair it with the tower's observation decks, reached on the same lift, which give a gentler version of the same view for anyone who would rather stay behind glass.

My husband and I did the Sky Walk and loved it. Although I’m not the biggest fan of heights, Logan & Benny made me feel at ease and didn’t push me to do anything I didn’t want to. The experience was awesome and I’m glad we did it. Logan and Benny were very professional, friendly, funny and made our experience more enjoyable.
Such an amazing experience - Logan and the team at SkyWalk were so friendly and good at getting the group ready to do the walk and attempt the challenges - really would recommend to anyone who wants to get the best view of the city

I had an amazing experience at the SkyJump from the ! It was absolutely worth it—such a thrilling and unforgettable moment. What made it even more special was how friendly and supportive all the staff were. They made me feel safe, comfortable, and excited the whole time. Highly recommend this experience to anyone looking for a fun adventure in Auckland!
Had the grandest time doing the SkyJump ✨ I have personally never done any form of bungy jumping before so I was truly all, go big or go home! The staff were very accommodating and were really sweet to help me get rid of all the nerves. The scariest part was probably stepping out on the ledge and seeing how far down you’ll be dropping off, but after that it’s great fun! Think of it as a vertical zipline. Just remember to breathe and enjoy the view. The package comes with lots of photos and a video edit that immediately gets sent to your email, plus I got a free shirt since I booked direct! It also comes with Sky Tower deck admission so after collecting my things, I just made my way up again to relax. PSA, the camera should be on your righthand side so if you want some cool shots of you looking at the camera, look that way!
I finally decided to book the SkyJump after waiting for a discount, but I ended up changing it to the SkyRide instead. With the introduction of the SkyRide, SkyJump now uses the same new seated harness, so it no longer feels like a genuine jump or “leap of faith” as currently described online. The name and wording come off as a bit misleading now. Since they're so similar, SkyRide felt like a better deal to me. You spend around 90 seconds ascending outside the tower and another 20 seconds descending, whereas SkyJump is mostly just the descent part. When they cost the same, I found it hard to justify the shorter experience. I did the SkyRide twice while it was discounted and enjoyed the novelty of rising above the city. The views were great, and the drop still gave me a rush, but overall, it gave off the vibe of a bigger Fear Fall. It’s a very controlled “sit, go up, take in the views, fall, done” experience, and it felt a bit tame for the $330 price tag. For me, it’s just missing a bit of agency or challenge. I can see both the new SkyRide and SkyJump appealing more to people who want the views and freefall sensation in a controlled, seated format, especially as a tandem experience if they don’t want to fall alone. But if I were spending a similar amount again and wanted more adrenaline and challenge, I’d personally be more inclined to put it towards something like the SkyWalk/Harbour Bridge Bungy combo.
