Escape Room

Escapade NZ

Escapade NZ brings a kiwi twist to the escape room format, with five rooms and two outdoor adventure games to choose from in Auckland Central. Teams of two to six players have 60 minutes to work through a series of puzzles, with a game briefing beforehand to get everyone oriented. The rooms are designed to be equally challenging, though first-timers are steered towards the Bach as a gentle introduction to the format.

What it is

The experience suits families with children aged ten and above — younger children are welcome but must be accompanied by an adult inside the game room. There are no jump scares or gimmicks; the atmosphere leans towards laughter and collective problem-solving. Completion is tracked by how many hints a team uses, earning either a Sherlock or Watson rating.

For larger gatherings, up to six rooms can run simultaneously, accommodating 36 players at once, with a lounge space available for groups rotating through back-to-back sessions.

First timers to escape rooms. My 14yr old daughter and I did the Bach. What a fun experience great puzzles. Certainly gets the brain thinking and the time disappears quick after 30mins. Our host was O4Awesome we had a great time. Will definitely go back again when we are next in Auckland. Money well spent and a great way to hang out with my daughter.

We thoroughly enjoyed the experience of this escape room - had to get to an exam! My husband and I have done about 4 rooms around the world and it was the first time for our friends. We all had a blast and enjoyed the different kinds of clues with this room. Well done.

We had such a great time at Escapade NZ with the family. The Old School activity was honestly one of the highlights and it brought back all those nostalgic vibes but in a way that was still fun for everyone. Finishing it off with the final activity was the perfect way to wrap everything up. It felt like a proper “we did it” moment and just tied the whole experience together nicely. We’d happily go back again!

Team of 6 came. It was a lot of fun. We had a few drinks before hand, made it super tricky lol. Probably should have done that after, it does require clever thinking lol. Good way to test your brain power as a team.

We did the Endeavour room and had such a good time. It was our first escape room, so we didn’t really know what to expect but it was such a cool experience. We needed a couple of clues along the way, but managed to get there in the end. Definitely worth it for the price. We’d happily go back and try another room.
