What it is

Boulder Co. in Westgate brings indoor bouldering — rope-free climbing on shorter walls where the mat is the safety net — within reach of Auckland families. Kids can clamber over problems at their own pace, building confidence and strength without the need for harnesses or prior experience.

The gym runs dedicated kids and youth classes as well as personal coaching sessions, so there is a clear path for children who catch the bug and want to progress. Birthday parties are catered for, and a café means grown-ups can refuel while watching the action from the sidelines.

Big modern gym. Two moonboards, one spraywall, a campusboard, separate fitness room with AC, and a large area with set boulders. Separate corner for kids. Showers and changing rooms. Also a cafe. Very good gym overall, albeit I didn’t try the set boulders so don’t know the quality. moonboard is chalked down as in all other gyms. Come on guys, brush the holds! It’s not that hard…

We’ve come here a few times and it’s such a great find for anyone with active kids! Unlike other kids activities, bouldering doesn’t have a time limit so the kids can climb for hours. The customer service here is amazing. Super friendly, helpful and great with the kids. Food is good, and reasonably priced. My only negative feedback is it would be good if the surfaces (tables etc) were wiped a bit more often as they get really dusty and grubby.

Amazing facility, plenty of space and clean! The gym upstairs is also great and staff are friendly. 🙂🧗‍♀️ There are also some board games in the sitting area and a couple of foosball tables which are good fun. Very happy staying here for a good few hours.

Great hours available to avoid busy times or be social if you want. Amazing gym facilities compared to other climbing gyms. Routes change often enough but perhaps you could restrain from changing my proj so soon ;) Cafe offers good food and beverages to enjoy a board game. Staff are awesome and friendly.

The intro pass is great. For the price of the day pass you can boulder for a week and rental shoes are included. Boulders are good, but not great. With the gym and the 2 moonboards this place has everything to b come a strong climber. Staff is nice and the place is clean.
