Hobsonville Point Coastal Walkway
The Te Ara Manawa coastal walkway traces a 5km loop around the Hobsonville Point peninsula, hugging the waterfront at Catalina Bay before cutting through bush-clad gullies and across the township. The terrain is flat and the path is pram, scooter and cycle-friendly throughout, with a mix of boardwalk, footpath and graded gravel.

What it is
Families tend to make a beeline for the playgrounds strung along the route. At Harrier Point Park, a flying fox and basket swing overlook the water; further along, the Hobsonville Point Park playground offers giant sculptural seed pods fashioned from steel — the kind of structure that sends children up, over and through until the adults call time. The two Sunderland bridges lift walkers into the treetops, with views across the inlet to mature pōhutukawa and out to Herald Island.
The walkway also carries a layer of history — thirteen uniform brick buildings at Te Onekiritea Point mark New Zealand's former largest Air Force explosives depot, and a repurposed rifle range now serves as an open-air amphitheatre. Public toilets are available at Catalina Bay.

Stunning walkway, enjoying my time by findings some cuties on the way!
If you're after a smooth, scenic stroll with harbour views and a touch of city chic, this one is for you! It's well-paved path winding along the water's edge, modern apartments and parks, and stunning views of the Waitematā Harbour. It's a fantastic blend of urban design and natural beauty, perfect for a relaxed walk or bike ride. What you are seeing in the video is something that was set up for bikes however was being used for a family race car track! It has easy access and is family-friendly. It's a great spot for a leisurely stroll, a jog, or a bike ride, with plenty of places to stop and being close to all the amenities. Happy exploring!

One of the best walking trails in North-west Auckland. Amazing views all along the coast and stunning views of north harbor. The walk takes you through WWII era bunkers and air fields. There's also an amphitheater (the only public toilet is near this). Ample parking space 🅿️ and plenty of options for cafes/restaurants after a great walk!
It's a beautiful walk along the marshy coastline. There path is largely paved and there is little elevation, so it's a very beginner level walk. At the carpark, the old airfield has been renovated with many cafes and restaurants. It's a lovely look with the plane hangars completely made over.
Awesome place for a relaxing walk. Plenty of parking available on weekends, with a great bar and restaurant nearby. Great views of the surrounding harbour and old air hangar. New developments can be seen everywhere around this area, there is also a ferry service as well, including a nearby park.
