What it is
ActivZone is the North Shore's dedicated skating destination, built around a large indoor rink with a proper sound system and disco lighting. Skaters of any level can hire quality Bauer and Mission rollerblades or skates in sizes from US10 youth to US13 adult, and helmets — mandatory for every public session — are available to hire at the door.
Open skate sessions run to a soundtrack of favourite tunes, and the rink regularly hosts themed skate events with costumes, games, and prizes. Beyond the rink, there is casual table tennis, inline hockey, and pickleball, giving families plenty to explore across a visit.
Birthday parties are well catered for, with rinkside party areas, skate hire included, and the option of a private hire outside public session times. A café and skate shop round out the offer, and Glenfield Pool and Leisure Centre sits directly next door for families who want to extend the day.
What other parents say
ActiveZone gleanfield is a fantastic spot for rollerblading. It's incredibly safe, with well-maintained pathways and a welcoming atmosphere. The environment is lively, the music is great, and you really get to enjoy yourself while staying active. Highly recommend it for anyone looking for a fun and secure rollerblading experience!
Really cool space. Staff was really friendly. The flooring for the roller skating area wasn’t wooden or typical. It was some other material. Still clean and solid and safe but it was difficult to skate on and wouldn’t maintain your speed. It kind of felt like if you were skating on carpet. Ping pong table area and equipment were clean and nice. Decent spacing. But there is zero AC! Or if there is it wasn’t in, because 5 minutes in and we were sweating just standing in the building. A ceiling fan or industrial fan in the corner would be nice just to move the air around. The crowd is mostly kids & teenagers so it smelled like sweaty kids & teenagers. Would have loved to stay longer but the heat is ultimately what let us know it was time to go.

Couldn't manage to update their opening hours. Google does send an email to businesses with an easy update option for holidays. A long drive for nothing.
was only there for a inline hockey tournament honestly did not like the setup with having to step over a rail to get on and off the rink or the choice of a ramp or steps to get down, they're not help that you go from carpet to a smooth surface and then one that was a little sticky and grippy to the wheels, overall not a bad rink just bad design around it by people who obviously did not and do not understand skating at all.
My children and I enjoy visiting there for skating activities. I understand the importance of wearing helmets, even though it slightly affects the overall experience. Additionally, the music volume could be improved to enhance the atmosphere.
