Skateparks in Auckland
Council skateparks are free and open all hours, which makes them one of the better-value things in the city for kids on a board, scooter or BMX — and there is an indoor, paid option for when the weather rules the outdoor ones out. The catch is that a park built for confident skaters is intimidating for a beginner.

Where a park has a separate flat or learner area we have said so — that is the difference between a first visit that goes well and one that ends after ten minutes. Helmets are not enforced but every park expects them.
