What it is
Albany Village Library hosts a weekly te reo Māori conversation group where speakers of every level — from first words to near-fluent — gather to learn, practise, and enjoy the language together. The kaupapa is straightforward: nau mai te hapa, welcome your mistakes. It is an explicitly safe space, so there is no pressure to be polished.
Free tea and coffee are on hand, and tamariki are kept engaged with games and craft activities, making it a genuine outing for the whole whānau rather than just the adults brushing up on their reo.
