Xpressions Gymnastics throws open its gym for Free Play — unstructured sessions where children aged 2 to 14 can clamber over equipment, jump, balance, and tumble entirely at their own pace. There are no drills or coached routines, just instructors keeping a watchful eye while kids work out what their bodies can do.

What it is
It suits complete beginners as readily as children who already love to move. Toddlers and preschoolers under five must have an adult alongside them in the gym, while a caregiver needs to remain on site for children under eight. Spectators are welcome in the café and general areas. Children go barefoot and should wear comfortable, jewellery-free clothing.
Pre-booking secures a spot, and arriving around ten minutes early allows time for the safety briefing before the session begins. Xpressions is an affiliated member of Gymnastics New Zealand.
