Escape Masters

Escape Masters runs several themed rooms in the city centre, each built around a story the group has to unpick — a bank heist, a motel with a history, a prison break on an alien world. Teams of two to eight are shut in together and given an hour to find the clues, work the locks and get themselves out, with a games master watching on and offering a nudge when the group stalls. It suits older children and teenagers best, and younger ones are welcome alongside an adult. The appeal for families is that everyone has something to contribute: the child who spots the odd detail is as useful as the parent who works the combination. There is also an outdoor quest that takes players out around the surrounding streets, which is worth considering when the weather is fine and the group is large.
