The Civic Tours

Kia Ora. Thanks do much for pleasant and enjoyable to cenimy seeing „A Christmas Carol” on the stage. I was enchanted with acting quality, plot Construction with so much humor in it and special effects in a wonderful atmosphere that makes me count the days down on the way to Christmas. PS. Thanks for letting me takę so many pictures after the show in this historical theatre. I’ve covered at about 17 000 km to be there. Much appreciated and see You there one day in the future! :)

I went to The Civic, the performing theater in Auckland. Here is what I learned about the place, along with my thoughts and what other guests said. The Civic first opened on 20 December 1929. It was built as a movie theater and a live performance venue. The style is called atmospheric, which means the inside looks like a night sky with stars and clouds. The architect was Charles Bohringer. In its early days, it showed films and also hosted stage shows. Over the years, the building got old and was nearly torn down in the 1980s. But the city saved it. A big restoration project happened between 1998 and 1999. The theater closed for 14 months and reopened in December 1999 with a big concert. Today, it is one of the most famous theaters in New Zealand. It has about 2,400 seats. It is on Queen Street in the city centre. The theater is used for live shows, musicals, concerts, and film festivals, including the New Zealand International Film Festival. I really enjoyed my visit. The inside is stunning. The ceiling looks like a real night sky with twinkling stars, and the walls have beautiful designs. Many guests said the theater is a must see for the beauty alone. One person said it feels like stepping into another world. Another guest loved the sound system and said the acoustics are excellent. People also said the staff are friendly and helpful. The location in the middle of the city is very easy to reach. Overall, I would say The Civic is a beautiful and historic theater with a great atmosphere. The restoration saved a true treasure. Just know that the seats are old style and might not suit everyone, and the view can vary. But for the beauty and the shows, it is a wonderful place to visit.
