Te Tūhononga ki Rāwhiti Kapa Haka

Te Tūhononga ki Rāwhiti is a Glen Innes community kapa haka rōpū run by Matua Hakopa Ripley, and during Te Wiki o te Reo Māori they bring their kaupapa to Auckland Art Gallery Toi o Tāmaki for an hour-long open session.

Families can learn waiata or try their hand at kapa haka alongside the group — no prior experience required. The rōpū's kaupapa is one of genuine welcome: all ages, all ethnicities, and all backgrounds are invited in, with the session offering a chance to learn kapa haka, deepen connections to te ao Māori, and feel part of a wider community.
