4Cuts of Life

4Cuts of Life is a photo studio run on the Korean model: you choose a backdrop, pick from a rack of props and headbands, set the timer and pose, then retake as often as you like before choosing which frames get printed. The strips come out within a minute or two, along with a short video of the session. It is a small, self-directed thing rather than a staffed portrait sitting, which is exactly why it works with children — nobody is waiting on them, and the retakes are half the point. Groups of four or five fit in the booth, so it suits siblings and cousins going in together. Chancery Square is pedestrianised and lined with places to eat, so it slots easily into a wider afternoon in town rather than having to carry one on its own.

It's a nice spot to take quality photos and a lot of people I know choose to come here. There's 3 booths you can choose from but inside of them it can get a bit humid after a while. there's room for like 5 people max i guess for each booth. The accessories have gotten pretty dirty so I hope they'll clean them for proper use. the space is small and it can easily get crowded on a busy day.

Me and my friends love coming here and have a fun time taking photos. Only downside is that it gets really hot in the photo booths especially in summertime. It would be great if there is air conditioning or even a fan in these rooms. Fans only cost $20 to $30 in Kmart.

I’ve been to the other photobooth before this just out of curiosity. I find the other one better by a mile. This one needs some revamping. The head accessories are starting to look nasty and unhygienic. Some of them are already falling apart, better skip them. The price is also reasonable. The lady at the counter should have explained how the frames work, it took us forever to find a good frame. During summer, the booths could get pretty warm especially when there are heaps of yous. It felt like a sauna. I do appreciate how there’s more than one booth, no need to wait too much. What’s good about the shop is they close late. Perfect for a quick photo stop before going to an event or after dinner with family and friends for a good photo memory! I was also expecting a QR code will be generated so we could see our video during the shoot. It was quite disappointing when it didn’t show up.

1 star because it is very hard to comunicate even simple question. I contacted there via both Instagram and Facebook about an issue with downloading my video, but no one has gotten back to me. Last time I was able to downloaded 10 second video, but this time I only could download image. Does anyone know why it is?

good spot to take photos with friends, and the lady on the front counter was cool and friendly. however we did not wear any of the headbands available because they obviously need to get washed. it’s really dirty and pretty sure no one would wanna wear those things
