Pottery & Craft Studio
Clay Studios
Clay Studios Botany is a working pottery studio where families can get their hands properly dirty — shaping clay on the wheel, hand-building their own pieces, or painting ceramic ornaments and dinnerware in a two-hour session. One-off workshops run most Friday nights and Saturday afternoons and evenings, so there's no need to sign up for a full term to get a feel for the place.

What it is
For families ready to go deeper, term-based throwing courses run over eight weeks, and a four-week course focuses on making a tea and coffee set. School holiday workshops give children a structured clay session to look forward to, and the studio also takes private children's celebration bookings — a hands-on alternative to the usual party format.
Serious makers can explore membership, which includes 24-hour studio access, wheel and hand-building areas, and studio glazes. A firing service is also available for pieces made elsewhere, covering bisque, glaze, and clear glaze firing for mid-fire clay.
What other parents say
I've been here twice already and I always enjoyed the experience. Painting ceramics is very therapeutic. Does not matter if you don't have artistic skills. This is a good place to do teambuilding and girls day out. You can choose the ceramics you want to pay. Cost depends on what you chose. Paints and materials are ready on your designated work space. You come back two weeks later to pick up the glazed and fired ceramics. Exciting!
Loved my experience here! It was my first time trying pottery and wheel throwing. I mucked up a few times but Jillian was so helpful and patient and helped me throughout the whole process! Thank you so much I am so excited for the end product.

We just had our daughter’s birthday at Clay Studios Botany and it was SUCH a hit. Creative and tactile for the kids, inclusive, a bit different (in the best way), and genuinely fun. Every kid got stuck in, and a few adults couldn’t help themselves either. There was zero pressure, loads of laughs, and everyone walked out proud of what they made. Best part? The kids and parents are already curious about the next event with either friends or work etc. It's not set up for a "party" area... however we still did a good happy birthday sing a long and gave the kids some cake to take home. What a day! Even Dad (me) got to make something... loved it! If you want a birthday that’s memorable, hands-on, and enjoyable for kids and parents, this is it.
Used their bisque firing service and it’s absolutely reliable. Will come back for other firing services and perhaps some classes. Great team. Will try to solve the problem for you (we needed our stuff urgently and they made it 🥺) Good luck with everything 🌱🫶
Lovely friendly service and great products. Me, my sister and baby had a lot of fun ceramic painting here.
