High ropes sit at the point where a nervous child becomes a confident one, which is why they are worth the drive even though nobody enjoys the first ten minutes. Everything is harnessed and continuously clipped, so the risk is far lower than it looks from the ground — the difficulty is entirely in the head.

Courses are graded, and the grade matters more than the age on the website: a low course a seven-year-old can do unaccompanied is a different outing from a high course that will genuinely test a teenager. Minimum heights are enforced because the harness has to fit. Book ahead, and allow longer than the stated time — every group has at least one person who needs a while at the top of the first ladder.
