At Robot Rampage's Onehunga arena, birthday groups aged eight and up build their own combat robots from provided kits, coached through every step before the real action begins. Once each bot is named and ready, the crew heads into bracket battles — a proper tournament structure that runs until one champion is crowned.

What it is

The session lasts around two and a half to three hours depending on group size, covering both the build and the full fight bracket. Spectators are welcome to watch, so parents and siblings can take in the sparks and the chaos from the sidelines.

It suits kids who want to make something and then wreck something — in that order. The format works as a birthday party, with one all-inclusive price per person covering the complete Build and Fight experience.

Our second time and had great fun watching the robots smash and bash each other. Good small venue and energetic crowd. Only thing could say that there was a big of smoke when the robots got damaged so maybe better ventilation would help. All in all an enjoyable time.

We had an excellent time at Robot Rampage! We went for the World Cup event in February. The team there did a great job putting on the event and making us feel welcome.
