Auckland Asia Festival

The Auckland Asia Festival gathers the flavours and performances of Southeast Asia under one roof at the Auckland Showgrounds. Families can graze their way through hundreds of heritage dishes — Filipino lechon and halo halo, Malaysian nasi lemak and chicken satay, Indonesian gado gado, Vietnamese pho, Thai tom yum — while a packed programme of traditional dance and cultural theatre runs throughout the day.

Beyond the food, there is a Southeast Asian fashion show featuring cultural designers, a Travel Galore pavilion where tourism offices and airlines showcase destinations across the region, the New Zealand Migrant Expo, and the Migrant Hero Awards.

The festival drew more than 25,000 visitors when it was held at the Auckland Showgrounds in 2024, and entry is free.
