Went there for the farm week. It was so much fun and learnt some really cool stuff. I love the way the ecosystem was done .... The place was really peaceful and beautiful. My son loved the sheep.

Huia lodge isn’t open all the time, so if you make it here during the day then definitely look inside. It’s small and won’t take you long. There’s a little shop plus a cool NZ made kitchen oven from back in the days of Victoria ruling the world. Then a nice but if history but easy to digest and interactive with a touch display and a spinning wheel to take you through history. Well worth is the part at the entrance about the park and the gift to the people of Auckland.

I’ve tried to visit Huia Lodge multiple times, and it has never been open. I’ve honestly lost count of how many attempts I’ve made, only to find the door closed every time. The posted opening hours seem meaningless—they don’t reflect reality at all. I’ve also tried calling during their stated hours on several occasions, but no one ever answers. Very disappointing experience.

Nice old building in the park. You can learn about the park and see displays. Friendly staff. Quiet and easy to enjoy.

Very attractive historical building in the One Tree Hill Reserve. Lots of info inside as well as a guide to answer any queries. Next door to popular bistro with lots of picnic areas close by. Nice walks and views.
