What it is
A room of claw machines on the Broadway strip, open around the clock and free to walk into — you pay only for the machines you play. The cabinets are stacked with plush toys, character figures and the occasional gadget, and the machines are set at a range of difficulties, so a small child can be given a realistic chance while an older one goes after the prize on the top shelf. It is a stop rather than a destination: fifteen minutes and a handful of coins on the way past, or a small reward at the end of a Newmarket errand, rather than the reason for the trip. Card payment works on the machines. Bring low expectations about winning and it is cheerful; bring a determination to win the big one and it is expensive.
What other parents say
Good range of different items to win, but that's probably where they catch you. Just like many other reviews here the machines here feel more like a scam, with machines having a good grip initially but instantly dropping items as soon as it reaches the top due to its weakness. Alongside this, even the smaller machines are far too weak and claw too small to be picking up any items. I've been to many claw machine stores in Auckland, and this one has to be the worst with the most unfair/scam-like claw machines. I wanted to doubt the negative reviews here prior to visiting, but they unfortunately were accurate and should be a warning for all future customers If you're reading this please save your cash and go somewhere else with better machines.
Been there multiple times and it wasn’t a fluke, extra rigged, no matter how good the catch is it will bounce at the top and drop the toy! Not to mention that the small claw machine has toys too big so they can't be grabbed. Wont be going there again 👎

Tiny little room we saw on the way to the bus stop. Takes notes or pay wave and turns your money into tokens. Yes we spent $40 💀 but we won quite a few toys, I think card surcharge was 20c for the $20 we used with card payment. Totally unmanned room and you can go in and play
This place is a scam. The claw machines automatically drop the items, and several times the machine took my tokens without even working. I tried contacting the number listed on the machine to report the issue, but there was no response at all. Don’t be deceived by how nice it looks, it’s a rip-off and a waste of money.
Absolutely LOVE Clawlab Newmarket!! This place is SO much fun!! 🤩 Every visit is a blast — the vibe is amazing, and there are so many cool toys to win! They have a huge variety, so there’s always something new and exciting to try for. It's honestly the most fun I’ve had in ages. Can’t wait to come back again! 🎉🧸✨
