Manawa Ora: Taurite

Ngā Rangatahi Toa returns to Q Theatre with Manawa Ora: Taurite, an original production created by rangatahi during an intensive ten-day creative wānanga. Guided by leading Aotearoa artists — including Diggy Dupé, Fran Kora, Karlos Saunders Tunks and Matariki Whatarau — the young makers transform their lived experiences into a performance that weaves together original music, rap, dance, theatre and spoken word.

The driving idea is that balance is like a seesaw: always in motion, never fixed. Rather than striving for a static ideal, Taurite celebrates the ongoing practice of leaning on others, finding strength within, and recalibrating through change. The result is raw, honest theatre that carries the unmistakable energy of work made at speed, under pressure, and with real stakes.

Older children and teenagers with an interest in performance, identity or hauora will find plenty to sit with long after the lights come up.
