We are from Sydney and spent Christmas and New Years in Auckland and Wellington. We googled places to take kids and came across this place. I would highly recommend for families. 5/5 educational and affordable. We watched 2 shows on different days. The guy that works here is knowledgeable and friendly. Thank You for having us.

We went to the ‘grand tour of the solar system’ show and loved it. The astronomer explained everything really clearly and in a way that ensured people with varying degrees of understanding of our solar system would all enjoy the experience. The animations were of very high quality and - at times- we felt like we were actually travelling through space. Also the tickets were a fair price and this made it an affordable family outing.

Acually had such a blast as a 22 year old, went to one of the shows and I honestly cried it was so beautiful, my only gripe is such a small issue but struggled a tiny bit with the seats but gaf, absolutely cannot wait to come back !!!

We came here for the psychedelic mixtape event. There was ample parking. The bathrooms were very clean. The staff were really friendly. The event was in the dome, the seats were slightly reclined and comfortable. The light show was incredible and I left feeling a awsome state of happy from the experience. Because the weather had clouded over, we were offered raincheck tickets to Come back and check out the telescopes. Good value.

Admission is $5 for people over 3 years old. We went on a rainy day. It was fun but very small. Without engagement a small child can speed through in under 10 minutes. I think you need to go in the evening and or for a planned movie feature to get the full effect of the planetarium. There is a small gift shop at the entrance.
