Panmure Sunday Fleamarket

The Panmure Sunday Fleamarket has been part of the town centre for years, setting up every Sunday morning in the car park beside the library. It is a working market rather than a boutique one: growers bring fruit and vegetables by the box, stallholders lay out clothing, tools, toys and household goods, and locals sell from car boots along the edges. Food stalls keep browsers fed as they work their way round.

For families it is an easy outing with a bit of treasure-hunting in it. Children with a few coins can dig for books, games and small secondhand things, and the pace suits a pram as readily as an older child on the hunt. It is busiest at the start of the morning and thins out as it goes on, so arriving early gets the best of both the produce and the bric-a-brac. Most of it packs down before the rest of Panmure has woken up.
