What it is

Te Haikura a Kiwa, the kapa haka group from Manurewa, brings two lunchtime performances to Takutai Square in Britomart as part of Matariki celebrations. Their sets of waiata and kapa haka carry real weight — the kind of performance that holds a crowd still before sending them back into their afternoon with something to think about.

DJ G7 plays before and after the performances, keeping the square lively between sets, while Māmā's Hangi serves hangi throughout lunchtime — so families can settle in, eat well, and watch both sessions without needing to rush off anywhere.
