Victor Eaves Park Playground
Victor Eaves Park sits behind the Orewa shops and is the suburb's working sports park, with cricket in the middle and courts and clubrooms around the edge, and a playground tucked into one corner of it. The equipment leans towards younger children: a wooden climbing frame and tree hut, a basket swing and a spinning carousel, and a flying fox that gets the most use of anything there. A narrow sealed track loops through the park for scooters and balance bikes, and that is often the part that holds a visit together for longer than the play equipment alone would. Shade cloth over the play area helps in midsummer, and there are toilets and parking. Walkways link the park through to the shops and the beach, so it works best as one stop in a longer Orewa morning rather than as the whole of one.

The playground is a bit bland compared to what it was when I was younger, definitely built for smaller children. No bin in the area where parents and caregivers can sit which is a little inconvenient. Nice enough place with a badminton centre and tennis place too.
Great place four activities including bike riding antennas there's also a cricket pitch in the middle full stop a great fun place for all ages

I walk this park often. Lovely peaceful place. Well cared for and mown regularly. We use The park mainly as a thoroughfare to get to the shops or the beach. Walkways linking each road we cross from the park to the beach make it easier to go directly from Grand drive. Cricket and baseball being played on Saturdays of a high calibre. Children’s playground and the Badminton centre are well used. My wife is a regular badminton player but finds the hall gets very hot in Summer. So glad we live close by.
Nice play area for the littlies but needs a toilet area close by. Paths are not well drained and are in places impassable in the wet season. Main cricket , football and baseball area very good.
Great football field but bring your gumboots. The field closest to the clubhouse tends to get pretty boggy, especially near the verge. On the plus side, it is far more sheltered here than Metro Park.
