What it is

Parnell Baths has been drawing Aucklanders to the water since 1914, and over a century on it remains one of the city's most enduring places to spend a summer's day. The centrepiece is a 60-metre saltwater lane pool — the largest of its kind in New Zealand — which suits everyone from competitive swimmers chasing lengths to leisure swimmers who simply want to move through the water.

The rest of the site keeps younger visitors thoroughly occupied. There is a heated lido pool, a toddlers pool, an interactive aqua playground, and a choice of spa pools pitched at different ages and temperatures: a family spa at 36°C, a toddlers spa at 26°C, and an adults-only pool at 37°C.

A shop and café round out the day, and the Baths also runs SwimMagic swimming lessons for those wanting to build water confidence. It is an outdoor, seasonal facility, so it operates over the warmer months.

Very cool pool with different basins for toddlers to adults. The basins have different temperatures, the smaller the warmer. The playground is nice and safe. The bigger pool is great to get refreshed and play with inflatable buoys. You can bring your own or rent one for $4 and hour.

If I could give this a million stars I would !! The staff are the sweetest souls I have ever met and they are gorgeous !! The pools are regularly tested (see photos) and very clean. But the staff really make the experience. Ten out of ten would come again (wow I rhymed). Thanks Parnell baths!! You have made my year (and it’s only January!!!!)

Seasonal splash with lifeguards on duty. Tuck shop, seating, various swimming zones and play areas, Parnell baths offers something for the whole family, including those with some mobility concerns- call to check if you need more information. Limited parking availble, so plan accordingly (busy stop nearby, with overpass/bridge access). This is an outdoor venue, so weather will influence your experience. Please use sunscreen and a hat. Enjoy!

We loved Parnell Baths. We got the Tamaki Link bus to the Parnell Bus stop and walked over the bridge into the baths. After paying we could change and shower in the changing rooms. We enjoyed being able to swim lengths in the lanes and thought the pool and surroundings were clean and safe. Sadly on the day we went the cafe wasn't open but we had some drinks with us. After showing and changing again it was easy to get the bus again back to central Auckland. I would say it's good for Adults wanting a good swim and for bringing the kids after school or at the weekends.

Love this place Kids love it pays to arrive early on weekends as gets busy. Parking is a nightmare but recommend going up the top road to park n walk down the stairs. But weekdays even after school is pretty empty. The vid i uploaded was yest a Tues night at 6pm. So 100% say go during the week.
