What it is

Franklin Pool and Leisure sits in Pukekohe, south Auckland, and packs a serious amount into one centre. Three pools run at different temperatures — the lap pool at 28.2°C, the leisure pool at 29.8°C, and the learn-to-swim pool at a warm 32.1°C — so younger children and keen lane swimmers each find water that suits them.

Beyond the pools, the centre runs a swim school, group fitness classes, a gym with personalised training sessions, and a stadium. A dedicated Youth Hour gives younger members their own time in the gym in a supported setting.

Families after a birthday venue will find the stadium hires out for parties. Live lane availability across all three pools is visible online before heading in, which takes the guesswork out of planning a swim.

⭐☆☆☆☆ My fiancé and I joined this week, but after my first visit early this morning (around 6am), I left feeling really disappointed. The cleanliness of the women’s showers and changing area was poor. There was a noticeable build-up of hair in the crevices, and one of the stalls had rubbish (including chocolate bar wrappers) that looked like it had been left from the day before. It felt unhygienic and honestly quite unpleasant to use. Overall, the facility felt quite run down and did not appear to be professionally cleaned to an acceptable standard. I raised this with staff and was told that if no female staff are available at closing or early morning, the women’s changing rooms don't get cleaned until later, as men are not allowed in the womens changing rooms. That was quite concerning to hear. There was also a swim class taking up almost the entire pool, with a coach shouting and whistling throughout. While trying to swim, I was being splashed repeatedly, which made it difficult to actually enjoy the pool. The sauna and gym were also much smaller than expected compared to other Auckland Council facilities I’ve used. Maximum of 10 people can sit down maybe. On a positive note, Tui was lovely and very welcoming during our initial tour. However, overall, this facility didn’t meet expectations, and unfortunately it’s not somewhere I see myself returning to. Absolutely amazing communication thank you.

It was very quiet at lunch time on Friday. Lovely pool and splash pad for babies and toddlers. No spa pool which is a bummer but it has a sauna if you're into that. The large pool always seems to have lanes which is restricting if you don't want to do lengths.

Its super cheap Free for kids Adults $2 spectator Has a small toddler pool Kids 1 metre pool off toddler area Has a splash pad Some seating and picnic like table Outside area for sitting or parties Has a lane pool Also a sauna The bathroom facilities could be cleaner as its gets quite disgusting with hair and dirty things left behind.. Its does have showers and family changing rooms avaliable Our girls enjoy it there so all round decent place

The front staff are so friendly and it's very affordable. The music can be way loud it becomes a sensory overload especially when the holiday program runs. The poor kids having to listen to that all day must be so over stimulated after a couple of hours.
