What it is

Mama Moo is a romantic comedy with a genuinely odd premise: Siddhant, a widowed butcher who still chats with his late wife, slaughters a cow — only for her to return as a ghost with an outrageous deal. Mama Moo will help him win the heart of Sara, a passionate animal rights activist, in exchange for his cooperation. What follows is a clash of worlds held together by sharp wit and warmth.

The show weaves physical theatre, original music and inventive storytelling into something that is equal parts absurd and moving. Eccentric characters carry the laughs — none more so than the devil, cast here as Siddhant's own conscience.

This is the New Zealand premiere of the show, running for a limited season only. Parents should note the R13 rating.
