What it is

Beyond the dinosaurs, the zoo is home to New Zealand's most diverse collection of animal wildlife, with hundreds of animals to seek out across the grounds. The zoo also runs a working vet hospital and is deeply involved in conservation field work, giving older children a genuine sense that a visit counts for something beyond the day itself.

It is part of a charitable trust and holds net carbon-zero certification, as well as membership of the Zoo and Aquarium Association Australasia and the World Association of Zoos and Aquariums. Open every day except Christmas Day, it is a reliably full day out for families across a wide range of ages.

We had a wonderful time at Auckland Zoo! It was such a great experience exploring the different areas and seeing the amazing animals up close. The zoo is beautiful, clean, and well-maintained. We also enjoyed learning more about the animals and wildlife conservation. We hope that in the future there will be more timing options available for the animal shows, as it would make the experience even more enjoyable and allow visitors to see more of the zoo’s activities. Overall, we had a memorable visit and would definitely recommend Auckland Zoo to family and friends!

It was a very fun experience. One gets to see various of animals, to actual view them through pupil sights. I've seen new animals I barely have in my country, but to see new species unknown in my homeland is fantastic. To learn the wildlife and to experience a travel and tour throughout and within the Auckland Zoo is uniquely a special adventure. Everyone is welcome to such a place. This is a place where we appreciate nature in itself. The evolution of animals tends to change overtime, where these species evolution converts rapidly. As in the ancient era, animals were built in strong and larger build, and as to now, their build has become smaller. This is uniquely profound to witness God's creation by sight. It is thanks to God, we have receive the vision to see His pleasing creation, so unique and pure.

The animals here are kept in pristine condition with all their needs being attended to, They have at least 50 unique species and plenty of animals their welfare and diet are both carefully looked at to make sure they’re in tip top shape. Every half an hour there are keeper talks to learn more about our unique and native animals. I recommend buying a yearly pass if you are a frequent visitor or just going with friend with a pass. They have food stores and plenty of seating to further enhance your day.

Was a great day out! Got to see quite a few of the animals and was lucky enough to see a few feeding times! The new dino area was pretty fun! Nice new experience for the kids Very clean and tidy place to be and friendly staff. One of the better zoos I have been to I would recommend going early, parking is limited unless you feel like a walk or tram ride. Parking is also not free, even in the zoo grounds

Such a relaxing and enjoyable day out. The zoo has a great atmosphere, plenty of shaded areas, and lots of interesting exhibits. Whether you're an animal lover, a photographer, or just looking for something different to do, this place is well worth a visit.
