What it is
Karanga-a-Hape Station takes its design cues from the Māori creation story of Tāne Mahuta separating Ranginui and Papatūānuku, honouring the great kauri forest that once blanketed this ridgeline. Bold architecture and cultural storytelling weave together to reflect the history, creativity and diversity of Karangahape Road.
This is a first-look event, meaning families can explore the station before it opens to passengers and get a feel for how the City Rail Link will change the way people move through this part of Auckland. Performances, entertainment and activities are woven through the day, all celebrating the people and culture of Kārangahape Road.
Tickets are free, with up to six bookable at a time. Free tickets are required as spaces are limited.
