What it is
Buried beneath the Auckland city centre, Te Waihorotiu Station draws on the story of the historic Waihorotiu stream that once ran through the area, weaving cultural narrative and engineering ambition into one of the most significant pieces of infrastructure the city has ever built. First Looks sessions let families step inside before a single passenger train has passed through.
Each session runs for one hour, giving families time to take in the scale of the space and see firsthand how it will reshape the way Auckland moves. Entertainment, performances and activities are spread across the day, so there is plenty to hold children's attention while the grown-ups absorb the engineering around them.
This is a genuine once-in-a-generation opportunity to stand at the future heart of Auckland's rail network before it belongs to the daily commute. Free tickets are required as spaces are limited.
