What it is

Join carver, artist, and cultural facilitator Calvin Devine (Ngāpuhi) for a hands-on whakairo (carving) workshop at Howick Historical Village. Participants create their own porotiti or pūrerehua whilst learning about these traditional taonga pūoro (musical instruments), their sounds, uses, and cultural significance.

A wonderful way to celebrate Matariki through creativity and connection, this workshop offers a meaningful, interactive experience for older kids and adults alike.
