Halloween at the Village

Halloween night at Howick Historical Village is spent trick-or-treating your way around the settlers' cottages, where the villagers have taken on rather more fiendish roles for the occasion.

A Halloween trail leads through the decorated grounds and the graveyard, with a vintage sweet shop along the route. Costumes are encouraged and there is a competition for the best of them. Food trucks, music and lights fill the green, and families are welcome to bring a picnic and find a spot outside. It goes ahead in any weather.

The village asks parents to use their own judgement, since the decorations and entertainment are meant to be scary. Children under fourteen need an adult with them, and booking ahead is advised because only a limited number of tickets are held back for the gate.
