Sewing for Children

Run by Selwyn Community Education at Selwyn College in Auckland, this full-day workshop introduces children aged 9–12 to both hand sewing and machine sewing. Participants start by stitching a small kitten or bunny by hand, then move on to the school's Bernina machines to sew a pouch to store their creation in.

The December session takes a seasonal turn, with children stitching fabric decorations to hang on the Christmas tree or give as gifts to friends and family.

All materials are provided by the course. Children just need to bring their lunch and a drink bottle.
