Te Pou Theatre and The Dust Palace join forces for Kua Rewa Te Aihikirīmi, a te reo Māori circus theatre show touring three venues across Tāmaki Makaurau. The story follows siblings Miro and Nikau on a quest to fetch the biggest ice creams in Aotearoa from the legendary Te Kao Store in Te Hiku o te Ika — then the real adventure begins as the scoops start to melt on the way home.

Aerial acrobatics, contortion, ice cream juggling, and encounters with creatures from te taiao are woven through the siblings' increasingly frantic race against the heat. Environmental awareness sits at the heart of the story, delivered through the physical language of circus rather than a classroom.

The show runs for one hour with no interval, making it a manageable sit for younger tamariki, and the all-ages billing means adults are genuinely in on the fun rather than just supervising.
