The open-air dance floor in Aotea Square is back, and it runs on whoever turns up. Dancers connect a phone, choose a song and press the button, and the square's own speakers carry it out across the paving. There is no booking, no lesson and no audience beyond passing shoppers, which makes it an easy detour for children who need to move after a morning spent indoors.
