What it is

Action Ninja World sits within Matakana Country Park and packs a serious amount of physical challenge into one site. Children clamber up an 8.5-metre climbing wall without a harness, teeter along a high wire four metres off the ground, and make a beeline for the Ninja Warrior obstacle course designed to test speed, agility and strength. A Little Ninja Warrior course brings younger children into the action on their own terms.

The headline draw is New Zealand's tallest inflatable waterslide at nine metres, though the flying trapeze — rigged to professional height — runs it close for sheer nerve. Tarzan swings, a jousting pole three metres above the ground, trampolines, and inflatable soccer fill out the day, and families are welcome to bring a picnic and use the on-site BBQ.

Private group bookings for schools, corporate teams, and community organisations are available on weekdays with exclusive use of all courses and facilities.

If you do one thing with your family, take them to Action Ninja World! We visited with my 14 year old son my 11 year old daughter and their 5 year old cousin and a fantastic time was had by all. As a parent the greatest joy is watching your children be challenged and succeed, to over come fears and to watch them have unbelievable fun! It is safe to say all this is possible at this location! The staff are welcoming, fun, supportive and bring a real vibe! We were there from open to close, as the kids gave everything a go! The park is well set up with picnic tables and shade which was much appreciated on a hot summer day! I would like to give a special shout out to Bianca who showed incredible support to our daughter on the trapeze. She was kind, helpful and a lot of fun… most importantly she didn’t give up until my daughter achieved her goal! Just when we thought the service could not have been any better we realised late at night that my daughter had lost a hugely sentimental bracelet at the park, I sent a message and to my absolute amazement I got a lovely reply almost straight away (well outside of business hours) We were beyond happy that it had been found and arrangements could be made to claim it – this really was the cherry on the top! Keep doing what you are doing team, we have visited many attractions around the country and the world and I think your vibe is truly up there! … oh and one last thing... value for money! Super affordable for a full day of fun! Thank you from Rebecca, Malia and Hudson

My family of 14 loved this place. My 11 yr old loved his birthday here. Such a fun place with many different challenges to keep the kids busy. It's more fun, healthier and cheaper than going timezone and other boring city activities. We will definitely come back here for another special event and I'm glad I didn't get put off from the crazy bad reviews I had read earlier. We checked it out for ourselves and we had a blast.

Action Ninja World was an alright experience. It’s a great place for kids, with lots of fun obstacles and activities to try. We gave it a go as adults too and it was definitely a challenge.. you need to be pretty fit and flexible (which we weren’t 😅), so we struggled a bit but still had a good laugh. Some parts could use a little more upkeep and a few areas didn’t feel as solid as others, but nothing major. At $35 per person it did feel a bit pricey for what it offers, though overall it was a fun outing and something different to do.

This is completely outdoors so I do not recommend going if it's raining as a lot of the courses are too slippery to do. This is also better suited for older kids maybe 10+. Younger kids can go but they are very limited with the courses they can do so it's not really worth it for younger kids in my opinion. It was really disappointing that the slide was out of service. That was one of the main courses my older kids wanted use. Its strange that parent spectators have to pay $9 each to watch their own kids. They made $36 off spectators with our group!

Would totally recommend! We came here a couple of days ago and had an amazing time. I was almost put off by some of the bad reviews, but I’m so glad we decided to go. We were pleasantly surprised! The activities were super fun and challenging, and it was perfect for helping my kids burn off a lot of energy. The staff were incredibly encouraging, especially with my youngest, who was a bit nervous at first. They gave clear directions and made him feel comfortable. The young woman at the ticket window was also very friendly and even gave us a great dinner recommendation nearby. We got to watch her do the super high trapeze, which totally impressed my kids! The bathrooms were modern and very clean, which I really appreciated. My only tip: bring lots of sun cream!
