What it is

A visit runs comfortably to one or two hours, and the park is well suited to a packed picnic, with space to slow down between enclosures and take in the surroundings.

The park sits close to Te Hawere-a-Maki / Goat Island Marine Reserve, making it a natural pairing for families already heading up the Matakana coast for the day.

Awesome attraction, young kids (4&6) loved it, lots of variety, as others say, walk all of the trails as there are many enclosures and species to try and spot. Can tell it is a collection that’s grown and grown, some enclosures are a little ‘dated’ but I feel this adds to the character. Have the right expectation and it is very fun. Good value for money, spent 1.5hrs there on a wet day.

Its a fabulous place to visit to see all sorts of reptiles from aligators to turtles with everything in between inculding spiders and lizards with both plenty of indoor and outdoor exhibits

Nice rustic reptile zoo... In winter now of course things are a bit quiet but the views and walk is good and the big and small critters under heat lamps are interesting.

There's more in there than I expected! A fun couple of hours with friends and a toddler. Casual vibe, roam around where you want and enjoy the animals. Would visit again, perhaps an annual trip will be good.

Loved it. All the reptiles look happy and healthy. Make sure you explore the full trail as there are some hidden spots that are worth looking out for. This is definitely a must see and I fully recommend it do everyone.
