Auckland's favourite winter tradition is back! The Aotea Square Ice Rink transforms the heart of the city into a glittering frozen wonderland every year, and 2026 is no exception. Strap on your skates and glide under festoon and disco lights with the city skyline all around you — whether you're a seasoned pro or a first-timer clutching the rails, there's magic here for the whole whānau.
New for 2026: curling lanes! Two 12-metre lanes mean even non-skaters can get in on the action — great fun for families with mixed ages and abilities.
Look out for themed nights throughout the season: Matariki face painting, Student Wednesdays, Skate & Date Thursdays, and DJ on Ice Fridays. Skating frames are available for little ones still finding their feet.
