What it is

Titirangi Whānau Day spreads free, hands-on creative workshops across six venues in Titirangi Village, giving tamariki and their caregivers a full morning of making and exploring together.

Each stop offers something different: at Te Uru Gallery, kids can sit for a hand-drawn portrait in a human-powered photo booth or silk-screen their own print onto paper or a T-shirt. Titirangi Potters invites everyone to get their hands into clay and contribute a piece to a community totem. At the Community House, the activity is upcycling fabric and ribbons into a one-of-a-kind award ribbon, while the Library hosts tiny artwork on canvas using paint, collage, and pencils. Titirangi Theatre offers a costume bunker and a proper dance on stage under the lights, and McCahon House Museum has an art worksheet to spark creativity and imagination.

With six venues to move between, the day suits whānau who like to roam at their own pace.
