The Village Market @ Helensville Showgrounds
The Village Market takes over the Helensville A&P Showgrounds on the third Sunday of most months, and it has the unhurried feel of a country market rather than a city one. Stalls run to fresh local produce, flowers and seedlings, artisan food and preserves, handmade craft and gifts, collectibles and pre-loved goods, with food carts and a coffee queue somewhere near the middle of it. Live music plays through the morning. Because it is held on the showgrounds there is far more room than a village market usually gets, so children can wander the trestle tables and then run about on the grass, and prams and scooters have space to move. It is free to walk in, and the same stallholders come back month after month, so regulars get to know them. Dogs are not allowed, apart from assistance dogs.

Best rural show everrrrrr.so much to see and lots of activities for kids. Horse rides, mini games and lots of stalls from trinkets to tractors. Had a fox terrier race which was fun as well as a marvelous fire eating entertainer. Loved seeing the farm animals and the calf show, even had dog nd sheep trials, haven't seen that for ages. There were knitters and weavers, calf show and show jumping and there were also some fairground rides too. The food was a bit too pricey for us but the Rotary had great pies and sandwiches for a good price. Absolutely recommend going next year. We'll worth the gate price of $15 to get in and support the locals. A great example of a true country fair. I think i might enter my preserves in for next year!
Great experience, good prices, stallholders friendly and helpful, had a great Turkish-Egyptian food experience too. While the weather wasn't great the positive experience made up for this!

Attended a wedding over Labour weekend. It rained and it poured but the venue held up great with the addition of a marquee it didn't dampen the mood at all! Toilets were clean and good kitchen facilities with an area to have the food set out in a buffet style it really was the perfect place for this wonderful place to witness this special occasion.
Beautiful place, and the Helensville A&P show 2024, was lovely to attend, complete and be apart of. As well as my whole family loving all that was on, the food was amazing. The grounds in general are great and well attended and looked after. Perfect for big events, as well as parking spaces.
