What it is
Claw & Art brings together several hands-on experiences in one space. Kids make a beeline for the claw machines, which are stocked with plush toys and accessories, then often migrate to the DIY buddy station — choosing a character, stuffing it, and dressing it in outfits and accessories before taking it home. Press-on nail sessions give older kids and teens a creative outlet, with a range of designs applied without the need for a salon.
The food offering runs from 700ml bubble teas with a choice of toppings to shaved snow ice and MooMii Gelato, a small-batch handcrafted gelato brand developed in-house, with a rotating menu of seasonal flavours.
Private parties can be booked and tailored around the activities on offer, making it a practical option for birthday gatherings. The mix of arcade-style luck, craft, and sweet treats gives a visit natural momentum — each activity flows into the next without much parental choreography required.
What other parents say
This claw machine store is always busy, and I’ve heard it’s because their machines are actually more generous than most places, so people really enjoy playing here. I’m no longer young enough to spend my time on claw machines myself 😂, but I come here often for the bubble tea and handmade gelato. Their gelato is genuinely excellent — one of their flavours even won a Gold Award at the 2026 Outstanding Food Producer Awards. My kids absolutely love both the bubble tea and gelato and constantly ask to come back whenever we pass this street. One thing I especially like is that there are always new gelato flavours to try, and many of them are surprisingly creative and delicious. My daughter also enjoys their beading and nail art services. They also host birthday parties, and the owner is talented at baking as well, so they can provide birthday cakes and beautiful dessert tables as part of the party setup. A very unique and fun little shop with much more than just claw machines.
So lucky to come across this cute little claw machine shop tucked away in Takapuna 😍which also has delicious homemade ice creams with flavours that rotate almost every week. If ice creams are not your thing, you can have some bubble tea as well while trying your luck with the machines. Best thing of all is that it's by far the easiest place to win! We spent like 20 dollars and got four! The owner was so lovely and said the reason behind it it's because he felt bad seeing kids walk away without any😭 among the machines there's also a place to hold parties! Definitely a paradise for kids and kids alike adults like me lol

Claw & Art is by far the best claw machine place we’ve ever been to. From the moment you walk in, you can tell this place is different—the machines genuinely feel fair and not rigged, which already puts it leagues ahead of most claw arcades. The pricing is very reasonable too, so you don’t feel like you’re burning money with every try. What really stood out was the variety of prizes. They weren’t just the usual generic items—you could tell a lot of thought went into choosing cute, fun, and interesting prizes that actually make you want to win them. It made every attempt feel exciting rather than frustrating. The atmosphere was fun and welcoming, making it easy to stay longer than planned. Whether you’re casually trying your luck or fully committed to winning that one prize, Claw & Art delivers a genuinely enjoyable experience. This has officially become our go-to spot whenever we’re craving a claw machine fix. If you’ve ever been put off by unfair machines elsewhere, this place will completely change your mind. Highly recommended for both beginners and seasoned claw machine fans!!
Amazing owners, friendly and kind. I think this is the second time I've been and will definitely come back. The claw machines are very good. Hands down best service ever. Plus the Bubble Tea is so good. You can swap ur prizes u won with the ones behind the counter aswell. 100% Recommended.
We stumbled upon this shop while wandering around and super glad to have found it - we absolutely love this place! The family who runs it were absolutely lovely. They were very helpful and friendly, especially the adorable kids. We could tell they’re not all just about the business, they were rooting for us to win some! We spent $100 and was able to win 7 plushies! They are of decent size, so it is definitely worth it. They’ve got different varieties of plushies to choose from. They sell snow ice desserts and some drinks too. I ordered the mango flavoured snow ice and it was delicious - it’s easily in my top 3 now. You get a lot for $14.99 which is the large bowl - it’s not too sweet and it really tastes like mango. I was obsessed with the mango ice cream. They have all sorts of things to offer aside from the claw machines and food, they’ve also got a bead station for you to get creative and you can stuff your own stuff toy - something similar to build a bear. Me and my partner had a wonderful time and we will come back! The shop is very aesthetic too - filled with plushies! It’s instagrammable for sure :)
