What it is

Tucked into Snells Beach on Auckland's north coast, Monster Fun is an indoor playground scaled for children aged 0 to 12. The centrepiece is a 21-metre soft play area where kids can scramble up, shoot down towering slides, and dive into ball pits, with a bouncy castle adding to the chaos. Younger visitors have their own dedicated under-threes soft play zone, designed for safe, imaginative exploration at a gentler pace.

The playground is certified by Playsafe NZ as meeting New Zealand safety standards, and the setup is straightforward: adults remove their shoes and wear socks, children burn through their energy. Birthday parties can be booked with a reserved party room, unlimited play time, and setup handled by the Monster Fun team.

Snells Beach itself sits close to beaches, parks, and picnic spots, making it easy to stretch a visit into a longer day out in the area.

We had our daughters 3rd birthday at Monster Fun last weekend and we were so happy with it! We had the party room for an hour which was lovely and clean and also had Monster Fun provide a Unicorn cake as part of the package which was beautiful and really tasty. The staff were really helpful and all the kids had an amazing time. Thank you!

Great spot for rainy days. Lots of neat zones but not too big that you lose any kids! Very clean and separate spaces for toddlers and older kids. Staff were actively monitoring and cleaning. Very friendly and helpful reception staff.

Epic play space! Several points of difference from other indoor playgrounds. Superb air con to escape the crazy summer heat. Vigilant staff around the playground. Clean play equipment. The owners make amazing balloon displays. Great birthday party room. Well worth a visit! We'll be back.

Great local community asset but last two times have had really poor customer service, as have others. Adding to the people that work there being on a power trip, Monster Fun doesn’t have a cafe but has some sort of commission agreement with the Four Square cafe, where you can’t bring kids snacks in with you; all food has to be purchased from the cafe next door. Fine for adults but no good for littles who want grazing food, not takeaways. Average.
