Power to the Pedal

Power to the Pedal works out of Princes Wharf, hiring electric bikes to riders who want to explore on their own and running small guided rides of no more than six people plus a leader. The gentlest route is a flat waterfront loop taking in the harbour edge, the bridge and the pink Lightpath cycleway threaded above the motorway — about an hour of easy riding with stops for photographs along the way. Longer rides climb into the older neighbourhoods, which is where the electric assistance earns its keep. Riders need to be at least fourteen, and those aged fourteen and fifteen must have an adult with them; a trailer can be hired so a much younger child can travel behind a parent. Helmets and lights come with the bike. It suits families with teenagers who would rather see the city under their own steam than through a coach window.

This is an outstanding eBike tour of Auckland. Their office is located right at the port an easy 10 min walk from the ship. The group is small less than 10 people, the bikes are quite new and well maintained, helmets are included. Each bike has a large saddle bag big enough to store a small backpack. The tour was mostly on bike paths and went along the harbor before going in to the city and up to the volcano. They had ear phones so you could hear the guide which is the first tour like this where I have seen this. It was excellent. Well worth considering if you have a few hours in Auckland.

What a fantastic way to see Auckland! Matt, our guide went above and beyond. He shared so much about the history of Auckland while we pedaled our way around the city. I absolutely recommend this tour. It was such a fun way to cover a lot of ground.

This was an amazing experience. Eddie and Ruben were absolutely fantastic. They catered to all of us, and even with some slight rain on and off, and my recent knee injury, they made the experience so fun, easy and just all around enjoyable. They had so much knowledge about the city and we were able to see sites that we hadn't seen yet and from different views. This was a really insightful and different way to see Auckland. I Would highly recommend if you are ever traveling here and want to see the city! So many things that you may not see otherwise, especially if you're only here for a short time. Definitely put it on your list! They Both really catered to everyone in our group. Thank you!

We had a great bike tour with Eddie yesterday. He was so friendly, funny, and very knowledgeable about Auckland and NZ history. We had headsets so we knew where we were turning, things to look out for, etc. Eddie gave us excellent restaurant recommendations. The tour really showed us Auckland's beauty. It was a nice, leisurely tour. Easy fun riding!

This tour is great, even in the rain and wind!! Eddie was extremely patient with us new e-bike riders and knowledgeable with the Auckland history. They provided the rain gear that kept us as dry as possible, but that was out of any ones control. Would love to do the tour again on a sunny day. Sign up and do it!!
