What it is

A free, drop-in day at Arataki Visitor Centre centred on cycling and the surrounding Beveridge and Exhibition Trails. Children can make a beeline for the scavenger hunt (with prizes), a bike-decorating station, colouring-in, a bike-drawing competition, and a giant photo frame — then head over for free smoothies made by bike power. Adults will find free bike safety checks and basic maintenance tips on offer too.

The day also marks the launch of the updated Flat White Ride map, a guide to West Auckland's best cycling routes and cafés. Visitors can pick up a copy and enter the Bupa Healthy Cities Challenge, where every entry — whether walking, cycling, scooting or skating part of the route during September — plants a tree and enters a draw to win an e-scooter.

A sausage sizzle is on, with coffee and ice cream available to buy. No registration is needed — whānau can simply turn up, and the event goes ahead in wet weather.
